Alamo Brits

One of the key elements of our trip is a rental car. We need a rental car for the East Coast and later when visiting Yellowstone. We have spent countless hours researching the best rental car companies that operate out of MCO Orlando airport.

We came to the realisation that every big company from Dollar, Sixt, Hertz, Enterprise, Alamo etc have average customer ratings. Price vary wildly. Some are priced in USD some in GBP – at one end of the scale was Dollar/Alamo and the other end was booking a rental car through Virgin Atlantic which seemed to be nearly two times the cost of Alamo.

We saw from the Brits Disney Facebook group that Alamo seemed to be getting a lot of good recommendations. When I mention “good” it was more that Alamo hadn’t let them down!

We know first hand the problems with rental car companies. When we decided to rent a car on the way to Yosemite back in 2013. The company Dollar gave us a sat-nav that had a dodgy battery and decided to stop working just as we left San Francisco. Luckily we were close enough to turn around and head back and get them a mouthful. They didn’t care and in fact, had closed the shop and Kate had to bang on the door while I waited. The idea of driving up Yosemite with no sat-nav still makes me feel uneasy!

We started seeing mentions of Alamo Brits over and over again? Unsure and after doing some digging it turns out that Brits Guide magazine has a 10% discount promotional landing page at http://www.alamo.co.uk/brits when price is the main driver getting 10% off the total was a nice find.
