Walt Disney World – 19th August

Saturday 19th August

Not much to report today. We packed up our suitcases from the Art of Animation hotel, took some final pictures of the amazing artwork.

Jumped on a bus to Disney Springs and spent the afternoon shopping. Everyone loved the boys shirts, they were actually Primark specials! Mummy wore Nate’s Stitch hat for the majority of the day.

We walked the entire loop of Disney Springs and didn’t need to rush for anything, which was lovely. It was absolutely heaving with people, there is nothing wrong with American spending! In retrospect, doing this on a Saturday wasn’t the best idea, but the new room wouldn’t be ready until 3pm.

The boys enjoyed their first ever Churro. Elliott opinion was “I liked it but I would like to try it with Oreo flavours”. Nate wanted to buy another one almost immediately.

We had been recommended the T-REX restaurant which was as awesome as it sounds. Combining Daddy’s two favourite things food and dinosaurs. Luckily, we walked up and they had a few cancellations and we walked straight to a waiting table for 4 – win!

The restaurant interior was amazing, animatronic dinosaurs, dripping caves and fish tanks. It was also enormous in size and we were scared to think how much it costs to run.

The food was super tasty and surprisingly good for a quick service restaurant. We had wobbles thrown from both boys though. Boy 2 was absolute rattlesnake and we won’t go into the details of how he behaved. Ask us in person if you would like the full story!

Elliott also decided to speak to the waitress and ask her how big the fries where that came with the kids meal. She replied “quite small” Elliott asked how about the adult fries are they much bigger? “Much bigger” Ok, but how much bigger? “A lot bigger you would need to share them” Ok, I’ll order a side of adult fries! The boy has so much confidence, that he is now ordering his own sides! Love him!

Every 25mins the room “erupted” and turned a dark shade of red, making lots of rumbling volcano sounds. It was all too loud for poor Nathaniel.

The food is here!

The servers also started a clapping Happy Birthday whenever it was someone’s birthday. We heard the claps coming from a far, the claps where delivered by waiters, cleaners anyone that was near the tables!

We finished up after taking Nate to the restroom toilet, with the signs HE-REX or SHE-REX that made Daddy laugh, before heading for some more shopping.

To infinity

After shopping in a packed Disney shop and a cosy Disney bus to our new hotel, we were all pretty tired. We did get to see a glimpse of the amazing Polynesian resort. We found our 13 suitcases! And headed to our new home for the next week.

Tomorrow we are chilling in the morning, exploring the hotel and swimming pools before heading to Magic Kingdom for some fireworks and character meets! Our final and best week is coming up! Excited!
