Michigan Museum Day – 1st Aug

Another packed day in Michigan, we started by heading to the Hands On Museum in Ann Arbor. Amazing place geared towards kids getting their hands dirty and learning.

The first h2o room was the boy’s favourite and the one we spent the most time in. Mummy even changed the boys into swimming trunks and rash vests!

So much fun!

We spent nearly 3hrs in the museum and enjoyed every minute, from the full size ambulance to the firing rocket.

We grabbed a quick spot of lunch in a typical American diner. The first restaurant choice Blimpys Burgers (Man vs Food) recommended was so rude we had to leave. I’m not sure if the man was having a bad day or what but being rude and lacking empathy isn’t going to get our money. The diner on the other hand had a unique feature that the walls were covered in stickers. Some funny, some rude but all very impressive.

Next, we went on a tour of Trevor’s old university Michigan! Amazing buildings and grounds. Daddy thought it looked like Pixar’s Monsters University.

Also home to the fattest squirrels we have ever seen.

Fees are around $30k if you are from Michigan state, around $80k if you are out of state, according to Google.

The spinning black cube was a hit with the boys!

We got back from the museum trip and while the Mummies cooked dinner the Daddies tried to finish work on the new chicken coup. Foxes got into the last chicken coup and took these poor chickens to heaven. The circle of life as Beth would say. Bending wires with pliers and crimping was the most manual labour Daddy has done this year.

Tomorrow we have a treat for the boys birthday we are going to a Lego Discovery Centre. If you know our boys anything to do with Lego or about Lego is the best thing ever! We are very excited!
