Sunday 20th August
Our first full day at the Polynesian, we headed to reception as we had a few problems actually getting into our room last night. The technology is great when it works, but when it doesn’t you are back to speaking to someone at a reception desk.

We decided that after the amount of shopping and walking at Disney Springs, we should spend the morning at the pool. Mummy did lots of this.

Things to note, better sun loungers, people asking for you would like to order drinks and food, having to beep your Magicband to get into the pool area. Floating bungalows that cost $17,000 and a much more chilled out vibe.

Two great things about the resort were, the gigantic swimming pool and entertainment at the pool. This ranged from games, quizzes and more structured games (Elliott favourite), the boys absolutely loved it!

We had an early dinner booked at the best restaurant in the Polynesian ‘Ohana. To give you an idea of how busy and oversubscribed it was the people on the desk had stopped the walk up queues. Our booking was made over six months ago and we weren’t going to miss this one!

The food was served as “family style” which means set menu and the food is brought to your table. If you want more of anything that just ask.

There was also a lovely man singing and playing the ukulele.

After feeling well and truly stuffed, we jumped on our first monorail (monorail, monorail, monorail) experience and headed to the Magic Kingdom. Popping to the Magic Kingdom is a 5/10min task rather than a big ordeal with the Disney buses.

Highlight of the day, this doggy! Lots of the people were coming up and taking photos and talking to the owner. Her reply back was “you can follow him on TikTok”

We were looking for rides with minimal queues, the answer was Speedway at Tomorrowland. Motorised go karts on a track that means you can’t swerve or leave the track. Daddy got to ride with Nathaniel driving! The most scary experience of his life.

We had a quick stop at Dumbo (which might have the best looking area) and rode the flying elephants and enjoyed the soft play.

Mummy mentioned about getting an “Entangled photo” which was a lovely area, that at night makes for awesome photos. The problem was the line was about 30+ people long.

The lanterns looked so good, but we improvised and Daddy turned into a Disney photographer and got some shots.

By the time, we had got the Entangled photos it was nearly time for the fireworks. The boys hate fireworks! The fireworks and projections were unbelievable, they timed perfectly with the music and projections were all along Main Street.

Nate spent the whole time on Daddy’s shoulders and kicked Daddy when his favourite films appeared. Daddy it’s Up and Brave kick kick kick

With the sea of people at the fireworks, we were slightly concerned about getting back and the queue for the monorail. Daddy was imagining Fatboy Slim in Brighton, but actually the “resort Monorail” has its own entrance and track! Instead of being squashed into the train, we rode back like this.

Tomorrow we are planning an EPCOT and Hollywood Studios double day to ride some of the boy’s favourites.
