Thursday 24th August
We wanted to hit our final park day hard, the boys just wanted to go back to Hollywood Studios and play on Toy Story Mania! We settled for a half and half, half pepperoni and…the morning at Animal Kingdom and the afternoon at Hollywood Studios.

First ride on the list was the Navi River Rapids, the queue was pushing 65mins when we arrived to cash in our Lighting Lane. By the time we left the ride to was up to 85mins. It’s a fun slow Avatar water ride, but it’s not worth queuing over 1hr for.

Daddy had found a list of places in Animal Kingdom to pin trade, this seemed to be the boys number one priority today.

We headed for another great animal safari, lots of fun for the boys. Lots of mixed emotions for Mummy and Daddy.

We did another Animation drawing class after Elliott asked so nicely to do it again.

Lunch was in Yak and Yeti, which was an Indian fusion style restaurant. They didn’t serve curries or popadoms but the interior was decorated like an Indian restaurant.

We headed back over to Hollywood Studios for part deux of the day. First stop Space Saucers!

Elliott beat Daddy on Toy Story Mania! Daddy would say the gun was broken and he couldn’t shoot in the top half of the screen. It wasn’t the time or place to mention this as Elliott was as excited as we have ever seen him to beat Daddy “I beat Daddy OMG (he literally says O M G)” Mummy got the high score for the vehicle with another stellar performance.

We saw our friend Lighting McQueen, which was only fitting due to our amazing outfits.

We made a great decision to get some extra photos taken.

We headed for the final ride of our trip Mickey and Minnies Railway and guess what…it broke down! We waited and Mickey came on the loud speakers and told us not to worry and things would be back up and running soon. Lots of people left the line, one family in front from up north! Then as if by magic the ride is back up and running! Mummy was happy!
We left the ride and grabbed some new pins, even at 21:30 at night the pin trading doesn’t stop.

We headed for the bus back to Polynesian, we agreed that today was a lot. Looking back we will say it was the end of the trip and the boys are knackered, but actually it’s been nearly three months since they have had some normality. They are looking forward to their own beds, showers and mainly the vast vast collection of Lego.

Tomorrow is our final full day in America. We started this epic journey in June and we are wrapping up in nearly September. The memories and stories will last for a lifetime and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend my sabbatical. Feeling incredibly grateful.
Tomorrows actual plan is Typoon Lagoon for a half day of relaxing and fun, we need a chilled out evening as our alarms will be set for 06:30 to start our travels back to England.
