Saturday 26th August
Short and sweet. We made it home! We missed a hurricane heading towards Florida and we missed the air traffic control chaos in the UK.
We cracked out the flight to New York (due to the time we are travelling we got an amazing deal if we flew from NYC instead of Orlando). We had a 4 hour layover but…

Daddy managed to wrangle the family into the Air India Business Lounge and we spent 3 hours eating Indian food and assorted sweets. The lounge even had a robot driving around that the workers placed the dirty dishes.

The flight back to London was interesting. We learnt that planes can’t land into Heathrow before 6am. Our flight was scheduled to be 7hrs, the pilots told us the new flight time would be 5hr and 45mins amazing, we thought. We started to think ah! We need to call the transfer company and arrange an earlier pickup if we take off now.
This was until the pilot then said, as the flight is shorter and the restriction with landing. We actually need to sit at the side of the runway for the next hour (not joking) and take off at 7pm instead of 6pm – so we did! We parked at the side of the runway while plane after plane took off. The boys were happy as the entertainment system was running but it was definitely a strange one.
The actual flight was fine, none of us slept on the flight, and we had four very tired people once the transfer company dropped us home. We did sleep and sleep some more on Sunday and Monday.
We are actively planning our next adventure and can’t wait to share it with you all!
Until next time – Team Hunter!
